Beginning in 2010, a few times a year, the owner up Upstate Stock's Mother would drive down through Central and Upstate New York to visit her son in Brooklyn. On her way she would stop through small towns and find beautiful local products in shops and specialty stores, all showcasing the best of what New York has to offer. One of those products was a grapevine smoked Seneca Lake salt; smoked to a deep dark color using the clippings from a local vineyard.

So, when the flagship store and cafe opened up in 2016, one of the first products to be sold in the shop was this smoked salt and out of that came the first ever signature drink for the iconic shop.
