A cabane à sucre, known in English as a “sugar shack,” is a small cabin or group of cabins primarily found in Eastern Canada where sap collected from sugar maple trees is boiled into maple syrup. If you grew up in the Northeast than a school trip to one of these sugar shacks was one of the best days of the year.
